On May 16, 2025, Focus Global Logistics (FGL) announced the successful completion of a major logistics project — the transportation of a complete LiPo battery production line from Nansha, China, to Penang, Malaysia. This complex and time-sensitive operation involved the movement of 21 different types of manufacturing equipment, divided into five batches and packed into 151 containers using four distinct container types: 40OT, 40FR, 40HQ, and 20GP.
The multimodal transport solution included trucking, sea freight, and last-mile delivery by truck. Under FCA (Free Carrier) terms, goods were picked up at the seller’s facility in Nansha and transported to the port for export. The journey continued via ocean carriers COSCO and OOCL, with final delivery made to Penang, Malaysia. A total of 34x40OT, 32x40FR, 84x40HQ, and 1x20GP containers were used across all five shipments. The transit time for each batch was carefully coordinated, with each leg taking approximately eight days, ensuring timely delivery over a project timeline spanning from March 26 to May 7, 2025.
Transportation: truck+sea+truck
Term: FCA
POL: Nansha
POD: Penang
Carriers: COSCO、OOCL
Container:34x40OT+32x40FR+84x40HQ+1x20GP
T/T: 8+8+8+8+8 days
Project time: 03.26-05.07. 2025
Challenges:
1. For these five batches of goods, there are many special containers, and the time gap between shipping companies releasing containers and trailers picking up containers needs to be scheduled properly.
2. For the second batch of goods, the containers need to be returned in time one day before the Tomb-Sweeping Festival, and customs declaration needs to be completed before the customs cut-off time to facilitate smooth loading.
3. For this batch of goods, there are 151 containers in total, and it is necessary to arrange loading in time and arrange direct ships for customers so that the goods can reach the destination port in the shortest time.
To address these issues, FGL leveraged its expertise in handling special container logistics. Through proactive communication with carriers, the company ensured timely release of containers, enabling efficient pickup and minimizing downtime. In addition, FGL’s coordination with the trailer company allowed all 151 containers to be loaded within just twelve days — an impressive feat given the scale of the operation.
In conclusion, the successful delivery of this LiPo battery production line marks another milestone in FGL’s growing portfolio of international logistics projects, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted partner in global supply chain management.
