FGL Service
FGL Service provided comprehensive ground support at Tianjin Xingang Terminal, including customs declaration, container collection to the CFS, cargo measurement, securing the goods after loading, and final export by sea. These services ensured that all regulatory and operational requirements were met before the vessel set sail.
Challenges
First, the distance from the pickup location in Dongying, Shandong, to the port of Tianjin Xingang added complexity to the logistics plan. Although other northern Chinese ports like Dalian and Qingdao occasionally receive BBK vessels, only Tianjin could accommodate this specific shipment. Additionally, the May Day holiday disrupted terminal operations, causing delays in ship berthing. To mitigate this, customer service teams closely monitored the vessel’s arrival status and cargo readiness daily.
Another challenge involved cargo protection under FLT (Full Liner Terms), which required the goods to be loaded above deck. Exposure to seawater and wind posed risks, so special covering arrangements were made through collaboration with a lashing company designated by the bulk shipper. Cargo covering and onboard photography services were successfully arranged to ensure the safety and integrity of the shipment throughout the voyage.
This case demonstrates the importance of timely communication, flexible resource integration, and professional logistics support in ensuring smooth international shipments.
